On the night of Sunday 8th.August 1920 Clifden (Bayleek) unoccupied Coastguard Station was maliciously set on fire with the result that four houses were destroyed and one damaged. The amount of damage is estimated at £3,000.
I have sworn an information and am proceeding to Galway today to consult the District officer in Charge of Works and the Crown Solicitor.
