My Great-Grandfather, John Flynn was Chief Boatswain-in-charge at this station up to 1880. My grandfather James Stephen Flynn was born here on Christmas Eve 1874 along with a number of other siblings before and after that date. My grandfather went on to serve in the Royal Navy until being pensioned off in the early 20th century.
