One of my great granduncle's sons was born here when he was posted to the Coastguard Station here. They were from Fairhill & Claddagh in Galway. The son's baptism is shown in the parish registers:and identifies their address at the time as being Darby's Point. Whilst most people were paying 3/=, it is shown they paid 4/=. Clearly their privileged statues came at a price.
