Toot Rock is at Pett Level, between Hastings and Rye (and about 30 miles from Hythe!). It was built in 1898/99 to amalgamate three other stations: Haddocks, where the lease had expired, Dog's Hill, which was flooded by the sea, and Cliff End. It was the second largest station in the UK, with an officer and 16 men. By 1911 it had an officer and 5 men. It was closed in 1926. The building was to a standard pattern, modified as the location required. I currently live in one of the cottages.
