The 10th of May will see the JSAR (Joint Search and Rescue) games coming to Howth. The games will be open to the public and all are welcome to come along and see a modern Coast Guard unit in action. One of our members Declan Mc Quillan is organising the event.
We've has been invited to host a display about our little site at the event :)
The slogan for the games is "Coastguards Now and Then"
There will be a display from the National Transport Museum as well as the Breaches buoy display. The boat club will be on the east pier set out by a movie prop company in the theme of the 1850's for the coastguard meet batmen game. This is the key game where the team go back in time to treat the injuries of that era. There will also be a display from the Hurdy Gurdy museum with old radio equipment.
Cpt. Brian Smith from Bluewater Training will also be there exhibiting Coastguard Life-saving Rocket.
We hope to see you there.
