1862. John David Switzer

I hereby Certify that Mr. Switzer, Master R. N. served as Chief Officer of the Station at Portloe in this Division, under my Command, from the 7^th of September 1861 to the date here of  during which period he conducted the duties to my entire satisfaction, Kept his Station in the same excellent order for which it has always been celebrated, and was always ready to carry out strictly, every order issued.  I have much pleasure in stating that I consider him a very efficient & zealous Officer of a Station. In him every confidence may be placed for Carrying out the regulations of the Service at a Station 25 miles from Head Quarters.
