Can someone please confirm (or not) whether the Hull Coastguard District in 1876 covered the coast from Cromer to St. Abbs Head? Thanks |

Hi I can confirm that the Hull Coastguard District extended from Burnmouth CGS - Berwick Division in the north, down to Palling CGS - Cromer Division in the south. Martin |

Thanks, Martin, That solves a question of whether three fisher girls at Cresswell, Northumberland, who helped in the rescue of the crew of the Swedish steamer Gustave on 5 January 1876, were given between them two silver teapots and four silver brooches by the officers and men of the coastguard, or one teapot and two brooches, differently described in two different reports.
