Kerry Coastguard
skaville
Hi folks. Just registered to the site. We are going to County Kerry for a holiday in June. Weve found that an ancestor of ours was a coastguard there, we think, in 1820s and 1850s. Would there be any records over there we can search? His name was IZZARD EDWARD HOMERSHAM. He was from Kent. We believe it could be Tralee and also Newry. Any suggestions?

Izzard Edward Homersham seems to have moved frequently as was often the case. His daughter Elizabeth was born Robin Hood Bay, Yorkshire, in 1824. Son William was born at Craster, Northumberland, in 1826. Another son, John, was born in Ireland in 1832 (which possibly links to the Kerry posting).

I'd be grateful for any other "sightings" of my great-great-great grandfather.

Bill
