Hi, I am looking for information on an Edmund Callaghan / O'Callaghan who was in Devon? and Cornwall in the 1870's through to the early 1880's. He was in Portwrinkle Cornwall c1880. Id like to find out more about his service and to see if he was based in Ireland too. I do know his family were in Cloyne Co Cork 1901. Edmund was dead at this stage. Many thanks. |

Corkblue welcome to the Forum. Since Edmund served after 1873 there should be a service record available for him on the National Archives website. However, I've looked and cannot find a likely match, but it is possible that he is listed as Edward not Edmund. There are a couple of service records available that might be him if he has been mistranscribed , but it's up to you if you want to risk wasting £3.36 each to download these. Martin |
