Would there be any Marriage record for Michael Sheehan b. co cork . I know he served in the service and had a daughter Kate born in Plymouth Devon c. 1866. Thank you in anticipation. |

You need to provide more info as there are too many possible Michael Sheehan's and more datapointrs are needed to narrow down the possibilities. - any info where Michael might have been posted ? - what info did you get Daughter birthplace - record or census ? - wife first name and possibly surname - wifes birth death There are a number of Michael Sheehan records who were in the Navy and in Merchant Navy so it needs to be narrowed down. For example, there is a Michae Sheehan b abt 1811 in IRl wife Mary b abt 1827 Irll noted in the GENUKI coastguard site http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/Coastguards/S.html - this info prbably came from 1851 census. Seems a bit old for your Michael not impossible (e.g. 2nd Wife). Without more details it is not possble to corroborate. For your own searches, some Irish BMD records can be found in Irishgenealogy.com, rootsireland.com and familysearch.org. English BMD are at http://www.freebmd.org.uk/ |

BPA Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately my information is very sparse. On 1901 census IOW uk, daughter gave her birth place as Devonport. On 1911 Census gave Sherness Kent as her birth place. Have failed to find any birth record for her in any of these places, so it is a total mystery. On her marriage in 1893, states father is Michael Sheehan Occupation is Coastguard. Regards |
