Welcome to the Forum. I'm afraid you have mis-read the names, they are actually the Revenue Cruiser Lapwing, shown as Lapwing RC, and Black Halls, another name for the CG Station at Hartlepool. Using the ADM 119 records at the National Archives it may be possible to fill in some of the details of his career on Lapwing, where he will have served as a Mariner. Following his move to Ireland from Hartlepool, he was transferred to Dunkeehan CG Station, a detachment of Port a Cloy. Out of interest there is a Merchant Seamans Ticket dated 1845 on Find my Past, the pay to view site. This gives an actual date of birth, as well as a physical description. Martin |
