Hello there, My GG Grandfather was James Palmer bn belfast in the 1850's. I have his service record and he joined the navy in 1873. He then was a coastguard in ireland. He was on the Belleisle in 1885 at Glenarm? then Larne, and Malin head, Whitehouse, Lambay Island, Ballydoyle then Ballycastle. In 1892 he was on the Kingstown and went to moville and ballycastle. He retired in Dec 1895. Has anyone any info on this man or the boats he served on? Many thanks, Julie |
