Thomas Havard 1839-1889
Geoff Wycherley
Researching my Ggrandfather I found that he was stationed for many years as a coast guard, Waterford Division,Fethard Station,Rocket Station.
Could somebody help me were I could find information on this area. By his Naval Record he served in the area from about 1879 to 1885.

Fethard is on the SE coast of Ireland
The following URL will show a modern map of Ireland and if you click the "Historic 6" on the "Preview" panel - it will show a 1850's map of Fethard with the coast guard station indicated.

Thomas Havard could have been in the area a bit earlier as there is a Fethard birth record for a female to Thomas Havard and Anna Lee Scrivens Havard in 14 Apr 1877

Many thanks for your help, very much appreciated.

I have got my dates a bit out, for Thomas did have two daughters born in Fethard, Alice Louise and Edith.
To date I have not had much luck in tracing them while they were in Fethard.
