I can place a Henry Jago [ born c 1800 somewhere in Mevagissey, Cornwall area] in Ireland in 1823. We think he must have married there but have no details of when or where or to whom. We think his first child, Thomas was born in 1825 at Myross. Are there any coastguard records of marriages ? Or will it just be local church records? Any help appreciated. Many thanks |

I dont believe there are any specific records of coastguard marriages, but they would be included in the Church records for the parish they occurred in. To find early marriage records you would need to establish the religion of the family and location (i.e. parish) of marriage. Shane |
