I've just registered on your interesting site - my great-grandfather wrote a short memoir of his life in the Royal Navy and as a Coastguard stationed around the Devon coast, at Rosslare and at Great Yarmouth. I plan to submit parts of this as an article. May be able to scan some old photos of the family, and will send photos taken this year on my holiday of the Station at Rosslare, and the remains of the Battery which he was responsible for. The Cannons are well-known in Rosslare Strand. I wonder when they were made - they seem very antiquated for the 1890s. |
