GEORGE WAS A COASTGUARD. IN 1895 HE WAS LIVING IN PORTHCALDO, CORNWALL. HE DIED IN 1900 AND WAS BURIED ON THE SCILLY ISLES. ANY INFO WOULD BE MOST WELCOME. HE WAS PREVIOUSLY IN THE NAVY JEAN |

Jean welcome to the Forum. Given the time period you are interested in, your best bet is to go online at the National Archives website and do a search of the Seamans Service Records. Jean Sometimes the Service Record states cause of death; the only other option is to order his Death Certificate. From the BDM register there is a George William Smith who died in the Scilly Isles ref: 1900 Q2, Vol 5c page 181. Martin |
