James Ratcliffe was a Coastguard in Galway about 1837. He married a local woman called Honore or Nora and had two children whilst in Galway Mary in 1838 and Catherine in 1839. He subsequently moved to St Albans Head, Worth Matravers (1841 & 1851 Census) and Bowness, Wigton (1861 Census) I am trying to find out more information on his time in Galway and his wife. |

Re previous query. James Ratcliffe married a Nora (honora) Donovan (Donnovan) in I believe Galway. Was Nora's father a coastguard also since I dont think Donovan is a galway name. Any help would be much appreciated. |
