This is my great-grandfather. He was born in London in 1854. I don't know when he moved to Ireland as I have been unable so far to find his navy record. However he was Church of England and converted to become Roman Catholic to marry Catherine Collins from Skibbereen in 1881 approx (found no record of marriage yet). He was stationed in Youghal, Knockadoon, and Ardmore. By 1911 he had retired according to the census and he did die in 1924 aged 69. He had 5 children one of whom William was my grandfather.
