Hi, I came across this wonderful site today and registered as a member. My interest centres around the fact that we live in an old Coastguards Station in Portrane, Co.Dublin, which does not appear on your reference list. I amtrying to do a search on the history of this location as it looks on to Lambay Island where, for example, the first Vikings arrived and set up a staging post before heading into Dublin and also where the RMS Tayleur sank on her maiden voyable in 1854. I amtrying to find out who was stationed here originally. Our building is a terraced bloack of 4 dwellings and we live in the 'Captain's'. Any assistance greatly appreciated. I would be delighted to post some photos on this site.
Best Regards
